Daniil Medvedev v Sebastian Korda Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2021 Paris Masters where Medvedev won in three sets on his way to the final.

Medvedev Continues to Impress in Round Two
After having recorded one of the quickest wins of the men’s singles first round draw this year, all eyes were on Medvedev on how he went about his business in the second round.
And after a relatively slow start in the first set, Medvedev did not disappoint as he cruised past John Millman in straight sets to register the win.
Medvedev needed two hours and 21 minutes to carve out a 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 win over Millman, with all his problems coming in the first set of the encounter. Interestingly, Medvedev faced seven break-points and was broken three times in the match – all of which came in set one.
What makes Medvedev so dangerous is his clinical nature and that’s exactly what he did here too, breaking Millman four times out of the four chances he got in the first set.
From there onward, it was a cakewalk for Medvedev, who won 83% and 88% of his first serve points in the sets two and three respectively. Add 10 aces and 33 winners and we are looking at a fine showing from the Russian who will now hope he can continue with this kind of form against a player who recently almost took Novak Djokovic out.

Korda Beats Watanuki to Make it 6-1
He has played seven matches this season and won six of them with Korda’s sixth win coming in the second round where he defeated Yosuke Watanuki in straight sets.
Sure, Korda had some issues in the third set where he faced 12 break-points and was broken one, but in the end, the American came away a 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 winner. Like Medvedev, he was on court for nearly two and a half hours too.
Korda will need to work on his serving which held some modest numbers especially when compared with what Medvedev has managed in this tournament so far. The world number 31 won just 69% of his first serve points and 56% of the second serves, while producing winners and unforced errors in equal measure – 26 apiece.
Can he now up his ante in this crucial match against the former world number one, having stretched Novak Djokovic in the final of the Adelaide International in week one of the season?
Medvedev v Korda Prediction and Tip
Medvedev is a 1/5 favourite here which we believe are just odds for his win given the manner in which he has started. We believe if he gets into some kind of rhythm he will handle the Aussie crowds better than he has ever done and could ease past his opponent.
