Aryna Sabalenka v Magda Linette
Nobody expected Magda Linette to be where she is right now but the Polish player earned it through good player and determination.
Linette opened the year well by playing for Poland at the United Cup and it extended into the Australian Open. She’s tough out mainly because she hits the ball really hard and stays in many points. There is never a point when she gives up in a rally and it’s a great quality to have.
Sabalenka has played the best tennis since the start of the Australian Open and is widely considered the favourite to take this one now. She has a 2-0 record against Linette and both wins came easy to her. All wins at the Australian Open came easy to her as well.
She won all of them in straight sets as Linette only dropped one set but I think Sabalenka’s streak is the one that will continue.
Tip: Sabalenka to win in straight sets: 4/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Elena Rybakina v Victoria Azarenka
Two grand slam champions face off in the semi-final of the Australian Open. Azarenka’s last grand slam came exactly ten years ago in Australia while Rybakina won Wimbledon last year.
Both played spectacularly at this event but Azarenka is the one who looked better and better as the match went on. Rybakina looked pretty strong from the start till now and her game is the heavier one. She’ll have the match on her racquet realistically but it’s a tough matchup.
Rybakina defeated her last year at the Indian Wells which is a court that suits Azarenka. It’s a tough one to call but realistically Rybakina should have the edge. Despite that, if Azarenka were to pull this off it would be the Rod Laver Arena.
Back three sets in the match but we lean toward Rybakina a bit more when it comes to winning the match.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 5/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Hijikata/Kubler v Granollers/Zeballos
Could we see Australian winners for the second year in a row? Hijikata and Kubler are certainly trying to get it done this year with some spectacular play that saw them down the favourites Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski in the previous round.
It was a 6-3 6-1 win so it was not by mistake or an odd bounce. They face an experienced doubles team that performs really well in the most important matches. Once again they won’t be favoured but so far they’ve proven it’s not a problem for them.
It’s expected that their run ends here but the odd is 3/1 and considering the circumstances is a really value bet. They can win this if the crowd gets involved and they once again perform to the best of their abilities. It’s not expected but it can happen.
That’s the whole point. It’s risky but it’s worth a try. Granollers and Zeballos failed in the semi-final last year too. They lost to Kokkinakis and Kyrgios.
Tip: Hijikata/Kubler to win the match: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
