Alexander Zverev v Stan Wawrinka
It’s Davis Cup weekend on the ATP side of tennis with some very interesting matches set to take place. In Germany we’ll see Stan Wawrinka take on Alexander Zverev in a match that might actually decide the outcome of this Davis Cup Pairing.
Zverev and Wawrinka have played four times so far and the German player won all four of them. He’s favoured in this one but he hasn’t played that well recently. Neither player shined in Australia but Wawrinka showed better form overall.
It’s not a surprise because Zverev is coming back from an injury but he at least won one match so he has something to build upon. Playing at home in front of native fans is something he always loved doing. It might just be the deciding factor because Wawrinka will make it competitive.
The Swiss player is likely to get a set but that’s all he’ll get. Take Zverev in three.
Tip: Zverev to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Danka Kovinic v Alycia Parks
Danka Kovinic came back in dramatic fashion in the previous round to set up this clash. Parks had an easier time but the American player also played one day earlier and that’s something to keep a note off.
Kovinic is a savvy veteran who knows how to play youngsters but this will be a very tough match for her because Parks plays so well indoors. Hee serve is a major weapon and her groundstrokes can be devastating when she’s playing her best.
Parks is 20-3 in the last two years indoors and that’s far better than the 2-1 score Kovinic has in that timespan. Even so, expect Kovinic to make this a close match because that’s what she does. She never gives up and makes things complicated for her opponents.
I think that will be enough to push the games to the over. They also never played before so that benefits this play as well.
Tip: Over 20.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Bianca Andreescu v Marta Kostyuk
A fabulous matchup awaits us in Hua Hin as the top seed Bianca Andreescu takes on the player that realistically could stop her. Kostyuk is the only player who has played on a similar level to Andreescu at this event and they play similarly.
Both like to attack, and both do it really well but both are also prone to commit many errors. That promises to make this a very interesting matchup between the players. Obviously, Andreescu is the better player and has played a bit better so far.
She’s also more experienced and favoured in this one. We do think that she should take this first meeting between the two but there is a chance that Kostyuk could push this into three sets. It’s a risky play that you can make but we’ll settle on her getting the win.
Either way, it’s not going to be that easy and the over is something else you can look at.
Tip: Andreescu to win: 7/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
