Holger Rune v Constant Lestienne Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came in 2019 on the Challenger circuit and Lestienne had won that match on clay in straight sets.

While Rune has looked solid in patches, he would have liked to do a lot better than what he has from the perspective of his results.
At the Adelaide International which kicked his season off, Rune was bundled out in the first round itself. He shrugged off his rustiness and reached the fourth round of Australian Open where the Danish 19-year-old put up a fight but lost to Andrey Rublev.
And while he helped Denmark beat India in the Davis Cup with two singles wins, Rune failed to make it beyond the semifinal at the Montpellier Open.
Wins against Marc-Andrea Huesler and Gregoire Barrere were on expected lines but a three-set loss to Maxime Cressy would have raised questions. Can he resume his campaign to claim his first title of the season?

Lestienne Makes it Through the Qualifiers
For the first time in his career, Lestienne broke into the top 50 of the rankings earlier this year when he made the second round at the Australian Open. This had followed a stunning run to the semifinal of the Auckland Open.
It had been his first ever appearance in the main draw of a major and for him to win a round augured really well for the Frenchman.
Lestienne didn’t last too long at Montpellier though, falling in the very first round to Nikoloz Basilashvili. As luck would have it, he met Basilashvili again in the qualifiers here in Rotterdam and pocketed a 7-5, 6-4 win over his Georgian opponent.
With the confidence back, Lestienne will now hope to make Rune work hard for his win but does he have the tools to get past a top-10 player?
