Coco Gauff v Petra Kvitova
After an okay outing in Australia, Coco Gauff returns to the courts for some more tennis as she is set to take on Kvitova in round two. She didn’t play since her defeat to Ostapenko and it should take her a while to find a good rhythm.
Kvitova is not the kind of player you want to take your time with because she’s played so well on these very courts. Her start this year was an impressive win over Zhang which indicates she’s in good form. Gauff won’t enter this one cold as she played one doubles match already so she knows what to expect in terms of the conditions.
Oddly this will be their first time meeting. Gauff has had the better year so far with an 8-1 record but Kvitova has not been too bad with a 6-2 record. It’s expected from Kvitova to attack with Gauff looking to keep the ball in play and it’s a very good clash of styles.
Kvitova has been very good so far in Doha and she can win the match if she is consistent. If she starts misfiring it’s going to be trouble.

Belinda Bencic v Victoria Azarenka
Belinda Bencic and Victoria Azarenka are a great matchup on paper because they both play kind of similarly. Both are capable of hitting some incredible shots on the counter and both track the ball down really well.
They played twice so far with Azarenka winning both of these matches. It’s been a while since then and Bencic has improved dramatically as a player. She’s also in spectacular form having played in Abu Dhabi last week, and ending up with the trophy.
Azarenka started off with an easy win here so she should be ready to go. It’s tricky to predict who will win because either can win. Bencic has the upper hand in terms of form but she could also be more fatigued than her opponent. It’s pretty much expected at this point.
Bencic is a bit more aggressive but Azarenka has more experience. I say it’s close although I would lean more towards Bencic.
Tip: Over 22.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Alexander Zverev v Tallon Griekspoor
Alexander Zverev did well to win his first match in Rotterdam and it was a solid win over Kwon. He didn’t face too many issues as his serve did plenty of damage to keep the South Korean away from too many chances. Griekspoor had a tougher going in round but he too passed the test really well.
This is a matchup where we won’t see too many chances. That’s how it should play out because both of them are really tough to break and both have a really good serve. They only played once so far and Zverev won that match at Wimbledon.
Indoors suits both but Griekspoor seems to be playing a bit better overall right now. He’s also playing at home and that should matter as well.
Zverev could win this one but he needs his serve to perfect. I do expect him to keep it close and then try to win in the tiebreak so that’s why I’ll back the over. It seems the safest and most likely outcome.
Tip: Over 22.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
