Miomir Kecmanovic v Marcos Giron Head to Head
It will be their first tour level meeting. They met once at a qualifying round before, with Giron wining that match in three sets.

Fourth seed Miomir Kecmanovic ousted Nuno Borges in straight sets on Wednesday to march into a second quarterfinal of the season.
The 23-year-old Serb, who had made it to the last eight in Adelaide-2, needed just an hour and 28 minutes to dispatch the Portuguese player 6-3, 7-5.
While the first set was a straightforward one with Kecmanovic not facing a single break point but converting 1 of 4, he faced some resistance from the world no. 104 in the second set. Borges broke early to lead 0-2, but the Serbian got the break back immediately and then broke again late in the set to claim victory.
Kecmanovic, who had a first round bye, improved his season record to 5-4. Apart from the two wins in Adelaide-2 and the win on Wednesday, he also won a match in Adelaide-1 and a singles rubber at the Davis Cup.
Kecmanovic made plenty of deep runs last year, but didn’t make it past the semifinals. Can he reach his first semifinal of the new season with a win on Friday?

Giron Eases Past Pecotic
World no. 55 Marcos Giron eased into his third quarterfinal of the season with a straight sets win over Croatia’s Matija Pecotic.
The American wasn’t broken in the match as he saved all three of the break points that he faced. He also had seven opportunities to break the Croatian’s serve and he took three of them to register a 6-3, 6-3 victory in an hour and 18 minutes.
Giron won 87% points on his first serve, struck 22 winners and made just nine unforced errors in the match, which saw both players approach the net plenty of times. While Giron won 14 of 19 net points, Pecotic won 11 of 16.
Giron wasn’t broken in the first round either had he took down eighth seed Ben Shelton 6-4, 6-4.
Giron, who has already featured in the last eight in Auckland and Dallas this year, improved to 7-4 in 2023. Can he make it to the semis?

This is a tough one to predict. Kecmanovic is the fourth seed but Giron’s produced better results this season. However, Kecmanovic has been a consistent performer over the last one year, constantly reaching the quarterfinals and semifinals. It may go the distance, with the Serbian edging out the American.
