Iga Swiatek v Veronika Kudermetova
Iga Swiatek played only one match to make it to the Doha semi-final because Belinda Bencic withdrew before they took the court. It’s beneficial for Swiatek even though I’m sure she would have preferred to play a match and keep herself in a good rhythm.
Her opponent played a very close match against Gauff but proved quite resilient in the terrible windy conditions in Doha. It hasn’t been easy playing in those and if they repeat, Kudermetova would have the advantage have played in them.
If the conditions remain fair then we should see Swiatek establish herself as the player that will control the rallies. Her ball striking has been superb against Danielle Collins earlier in the event and I think she’s feeling really good right now.
Being the defending champion here certainly proves that she loves playing here. She’s 2-0 H2H against Kudermetova and I think that will become 3-0.
Tip: Swiatek to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Daniil Medvedev v Felix Auger-Aliassime
Daniil Medvedev looked far better in his latest match compared to his first. He took out Botic van de Zandschulp comfortably showing a very high level that is good to see. He hasn’t played that well recently so it’s good to have the ‘old’ Medvedev back.
Felix Auger-Aliassime has established himself as an indoor hard court menace. He won this event last year and he’s playing really well right now thanks to his serve which gives him many free points.
He will have a chance in this one but he will need to play a really strong match where the serve will be crucial. It will be crucial for both players but Medvedev will stand far back so it’s going to be really hard to break him down. He hasn’t had a very good time against Medvedev in the past as he lost all four times he played him.
This one is very winnable for him and I think he might do it but we’ll opt for the safer over. There is a chance Medvedev doesn’t take this seriously enough but I would not bet on it.
Tip: Over 23.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Grigor Dimitrov v Alex de Minaur
Grigor Dimitrov is playing a really strong event so far which he confirmed after beating a very strong indoor player Hubert Hurkacz in spectacular fashion. He had some incredible moments overall but he didn’t play perfectly and he’s certainly beatable.
Another player that has been having a really good week is Alex de Minaur who took down some great players so far. He bested Andrey Rublev and then took down Maxime Cressy who did manage to win a set against him. His play was better overall against Rublev but overall de Minaur is playing some of the better tennis he played in recent months.
His speed is a huge asset on these slower courts because he can track down every ball. Standing a bit further gives a good chance to return well and it’s been working out. Dimitrov is tough to beat when he’s playing as well as he is right now but de Minaur leads the H2H 2-1 so far.
I think de Minaur played a bit better so far so we’ll back him to get it done.
Tip: De Minaur to win: 4/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
