After having crushed Stefanos Tsitsipas’ hopes in the second round, Sinner was at it yet again as he made his way past Stan Wawrinka with utmost ease. The former Grand Slam winner lasted a mere hour and 13 minutes in his quarterfinal before Sinner finished off the encounter.
Sinner won 6-1, 6-3 and while there was a slight moment of opportunity for Wawrinka in the second set when he broke back to get things level at 3-3, it was the only time the Italian players showed a semblance of vulnerability.
It began with Sinner breaking Wawrinka in the very first game of the opening set and he repeated that in the fifth and the seventh game to claim it in a mere 30 minutes. He went 3-1 up in the second too before Wawrinka got on the top of his game over the next two but that was about it.
Having won the title at Montpellier last week, Sinner will now look to make it his second final in a row as he takes on the local player in the semis. He looks in far too good a touch to mess things up here.

Zverev-Vanquisher Griekspoor Breaks Down Brouwer
Gijs Brouwer had surprised the injured Holger Rune in the previous round but up against his fellow countryman Griekspoor, he failed to reproduce any kind of the same magic and went down in straight sets.
In a match lasting an hour and 19 minutes, Griekspoor came out a 6-4, 6-4 winner to make it to the semifinal.
Griekspoor faced four break-points in the entire match but did not allow Brouwer to make use of even one in the way he would have wanted. On the other hand, it took Griekspoor just two – one in each set – to seal off the tie.
While both players won about 71% of their service points, it was Griekspoor’s ability to hold his nerve at crucial points that stood out.
He enters this match having already sent Alexander Zverev out in the second round from being a set behind. Can the Dutchman now find a way to break Sinner’s six-match winning streak?
