Alize Cornet v Dayana Yastremska Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before, Yastremska winning their match in Chicago in 2021 in straight sets.

Last year, Cornet made a piece of personal history when she reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, for the first time in a Grand Slam in her career.
Seven months later, on her 63rd consecutive appearance in a Grand Slam in New York, she stunned the defending champion, Emma Radecanu, knocking her out in the first round.
Among the other highlights of last season was reaching the final in Tunisia in October, losing in straight sets to Elise Mertens.
Her 2023 season so far, has been hugely disappointing by contrast.
She began her campaign playing for France in the United Cup, where she won one rubber and lost the other.
However, there have been consecutive first round defeats since then, including at the Australian Open, and on home soil in Lyon.

Can Yastremska Make Her Approach Work?
Yastremska is one of the most aggressive players on tour, an approach that comes with a high degree of risk, because for all the winners she hits, there are also more than their fair share of unforced errors.
She also was once suspended for doping, only for her later to be cleared with the ITF ruling that it was unintentional. However, the time she was away from the tour, her ranking dropped from a high of 29, and it has never recovered, although, having dropped out of the top 100 for a spell, she will be glad to be back in it again.
Like Cornet, she has endured a difficult time so far this season, and did not win a match until reaching the second round in Thailand.
The following week she entered qualifying in Abu Dhabi, and, although she battled her way through to the main draw, lost in the first round to the Swiss player Jil Belen Teichmann.
She lost to Leylah Fernandez in the second round of qualifying in Doha, but has enjoyed better fortune in Dubai, beating first Sara Errani of Italy, and then Lauren Davis of the USA, to earn her place against Cornet.
Cornet v Yastremska Prediction and Tip
Neither player has been in good form in 2023 so far, so it is difficult to make a prediction with any degree of certainty. Yastremska will always go for her shots, and, if they come off, she can be a very dangerous opponent.
On the grounds that she has had more recent match practice, she could start as the marginal favourite.
