David Goffin v Lukas Klein Head to Head

In two successive matches now Goffin has gone in as a favourite and ended up losing it. The first came at the Davis Cup where Goffin was 3/5 odds to defeat Soon-woo Kwon but was shocked in three sets.

These two results came on the back of Goffin’s decision to play in a Challenger competition back home in Belgium and ended up with the title. This was after Goffin had missed the Australian Open because of illness.

Klein Finally Wins Something
Before coming into the qualifiers of this tournament in Rotterdam, Klein’s record this season across all the circuits and at every stage of the tournament was stunningly poor. He had played four matches and lost four, none of which had come in the main draw of an ATP tournament at the highest level.
It’s now here in Rotterdam that Klein has finally managed a win, and then made it two in two to make it through to the main draw of the tournament.
First he overcame Clement Chidekh in a hard-fought three-setter which went into a deciding tie-breaker. He followed it up with a slightly easier victory over Zsombor Piros in the second qualifier to set up this meeting with Goffin.
Unfortunately for him, a player ranked 41st in the world could turn out to be a bridge too far for him to traverse.
