Our 2023 ATP Mexican Open Predictions & Picks
Carlos Alcaraz will be playing in Acapulco for just the second time in his career. He lost to Alexander Zverev on his debut back in 2021. Depending on how the Spaniard’s adaptability and transition take him, he will be the favorite to win his first hard-court title of 2023.
Alcaraz, at the time of writing, is playing in Rio on red clay and will be eyeing the No. 1 ranking in Mexico.
This will be Casper Ruud’s first tournament since his shock second-round exit at the Australian Open. It is hard to back the Norwegian given his indifferent start to the year and could be rusty in the earlier rounds.
One name that is worth mentioning is that of USA’s No. 1 Taylor Fritz who will be looking to rack up valuable points ahead of his Indian Wells title defense next month. Fritz captured his first title of the season in Delray and will be fully energized after taking a week’s break.
