Cameron Norrie v Bernabe Zapata Miralles Head to Head

He is ranked 111th in the world and was never expected to make a match out of his quarterfinal encounter against Norrie. And yet, Hugo Dellien looked to have sent the crowd into raptures when he clinched the first set against Norrie.
Norrie is made of sterner stuff though and he proved that yet again.
Despite playing on a surface which isn’t quite his favourite, Norrie overturned the deficit to pocket a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Dellien in a match that lasted almost two hours.
The British number one dropped his serve once in the first set before racing to a 4-0 lead in the second. He was broken one more time but came back with a third break of serve in the second set to level the proceedings.
And with the momentum firmly in his favour, Norrie waited for the opportunity he needed to break and did that to make the semifinals.
Before this, the Argentina Open finalist had overcome Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Thiago Monteiro in straight sets. He faces what could be one of his more difficult matches of the tournament against Zapata Miralles.

Zapata Miralles Continues Shocking Opponents
After beating Jaume Munar in the first round, Zapata Miralles managed to surprise the fourth seeded Francisco Cerundolo in the second round. He was playing an opponent who was 3/5 favourite to win that one.
In his quarterfinal, the experience of Albert Ramos-Vinolas would have given him a bit to think about and and that’s how the match looked to be going as well. In the end, it was the younger legs of Zapata Miralles that helped him win the two and a half hour long encounter.
Zapata Miralles edged past his opponent 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 to enter the semifinal in a match lasting over two and a half hours. This was after the two had gone into the ninth game of the decider tied at one set and four games apiece.
While Zapata Miralles served out to love, Ramos-Vinolas was unable to do so, giving the 63rd-ranked player a win.
Irrespective of the result of this match, Zapata Miralles will begin the new week having broken into the top 50 of the rankings for the first time in his career. A win here, however, will help him close in on the 35th-ranked in the world. Can he upset Norrie though?

Norrie could have a problem here. He might be the higher-ranked player but given Zapata Miralles’ form and the surface in question we could be looking at the Spaniard making life on court difficult for the Brit.
