Marco Cecchinato v Facundo Bagnis Head to Head
The pair have played four times before, and Bagnis leads their head to head series by three matches to one, all of which have been on clay.
The Argentine won on the Challenger tour in 2014, in Buenos Aires a year later, and in this event two years ago. However, Cecchinato won their most recent meeting in Cordoba earlier this month.

Four Years Since Cecchinato’s Last ATP Tournament Win
Cecchinato’s five senior finals have all come on clay, although it has been four years since the last of his victories in Buenos Aires.
He did, though, finish 2022 strongly with two tournament wins on the Challenger tour in October.
He has played comparatively lightly so far this year, which began for him in Pune where he reached the second round.
The Italian, though, was beaten in the first round of qualifying for the Australian Open, before travelling to Cordoba, where he beat Bagnis, before he was forced to pull out of his match with Fecundo Coria with an injury. He was a set and a break down at the time,
That injury forced him to skip Buenos Aires this time round, and, when he appeared in Rio last week, he was unable to progress beyond the first round of qualifying.

Bagnis Was a Finalist Here in 2021
Two years ago Bagnis reached his only senior ATP final in Santiago, eventually losing in straight sets to the local man Cristian Garin.
He would dearly love to rediscover that form again now he is back on Chilean soil.
So far, there has been precious little to cheer about in 2023 for the 32 year old, who failed to qualify for Auckland, and who was beaten by Dan Evans in the first round of the Australian Open.
Nor has the switch to the familiar environs of South American clay proved any more successful. He was beaten in the first round in Cordoba, and then failed to qualify on home soil in Buenos Aires.
He did, at least, come through the qualifying competition in Rio, but his first round match against the Serb Laslo Djere ended in disappointment. He was trailing by a set, and was a break down in the second, when he was forced to retire with an injury.
This is his last chance to gain anything from the South American swing this year.
Cecchinato v Bagnis Prediction and Tip
The form of neither man does not inspire any confidence that they are capable of going deep into this tournament. However, the fact that Cecchinato beat Bagnis in Cordoba earlier this month will suggest that the Italian may be considered the marginal favourite.
