Thanasi Kokkinakis v Quentin Halys
Thanasi Kokkinakis is going to need a really good performance if he wants to get past Quentin Halys who made his way to the main draw thanks to some impressive wins in the qualifiers. The French player is a really good server who heavily rallies on it but that won’t be a problem in Dubai.
He’s in a very good rhythm right now so he’ll be tough. Kokinakis won a challenger trophy in the Gulf recently so he should be confident heading into this one as well. They played two times so far and Halys won both matches, the clay and the hard court one.
It’s tough to say who will win this one because realistically it could go either way. Both have a powerful serve which could way the matchup completely.
I do think that Kokkinakis is a better bet because I like his forehand more and it might come down to that if his serve falls behind. Either way, it’s going to be a really close one so an over should not be discounted.
Tip: Kokkinakis to win: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Alexander Zverev v Jiri Lehecka
This is a really fascinating match between two players who are somewhat similar in level right now. Zverev is getting better but he’s not yet getting to the top level he can play at. Lehecka is playing some of the best tennis he has played in his career.
The Czech player is actually really strong right now because the conditions suit him so well. He was a really good serve and a really good forehand. That’s all he needs to make the life of Zverev miserable and I do tend to think he might.
I could see him win the match the same way he won their only previous one. It was at the United Cup at the start of the year and Lehecka won easily in two sets.
I could see the over as well but I like the three sets in the match value. I think Zverev can win one, I most definitely think Lehecka will win one so it seems like a really good value.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Filip Krajinovic v Andrey Rublev
This is an interesting matchup mostly because Rublev is not playing that well this year. He’s been quite poor actually, especially if you look at his results outside of the Australian Open. The reason why this matchup might be a problem for him is the fact that Krajinov leads him in the H2H.
Yes, the H2H favours the Serbian 3-2 and he actually won their previous match in Rome last year. They played in Dubai once as well and Rublev won that one easily.
I do think that the Russian will win this one because he finally showed a solid level in Doha the previous week. He is slowly turning things around and Krajinovic is not a player that should strike fear into him. The Serbian has had a lacklustre year as well so it’s not likely that he’ll produce some crazy performance here.
We recommend taking Rublev to win even though the value is not that high but you could try the under 22.5 games as well. I won’t advise it because I still need Rublev to show me a bit more.
Tip: Rublev to win: 1/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
