Dusan Lajovic v Camilo Ugo Carabelli Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before, in the round of 16 of Buenos Aires two weeks ago, Lajovic winning in straight sets for the loss of just four games.

Lajovic Suffers Successive Quarter Final Defeats to Alvarez
Lajovic is used to being ranked higher – after all he reached the final of the Monte Carlo Masters in 2019, and two years later won the Croatia Open. But a failure to maintain his form in 2022 affected his standing.
However, a win on the Challenger tour in December, again on clay, appeared to set himself up for the season to come.
He struggled on Australian hard courts, but results improved with the switch to South American clay.
Cordoba saw him reach the second round, and the following week, having come through qualifying in Buenos Aires, he reached his first quarter-final of the year, losing eventually in straight sets to Carlos Alvarez.
He emulated that feat in Rio last week, his progress again being ended by that man Alvarez.

Argentine Qualifier Carabelli
Ugo Carabelli had something of a breakthrough year in 2022, making his Grand Slam debut in Paris after coming through qualifying, and winning two tournaments on the Challenger tour, both of them on clay.
As a result, he broke into the top 100 for the first time in his career, but he has since slipped back.
The 23 year old chose to remain on clay at the start of the new season rather than head to Australia, and he was rewarded by reaching the semi-final of a Challenger event in Brazil.
Switching to the main tour, he failed to qualify in Cordoba, but had better fortune in Buenos Aires, where he reached the second round before losing to Lajovic.
His participation in Rio ended in the first round of qualifying, but he has earned his rematch with Lajovic, by coming through the qualification tournament in Santiago.
First he beat compatriot Facundo Diaz Acosta, and then came from behind to defeat the Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild.
Lajovic v Carabelli Prediction and Tip
Given that the two met only recently and that Lajovic won that match easily, he will begin as the clear favourite to repeat that victory over the Argentine qualifier.
