Alexander Zverev v Andrey Rublev
Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev will contest a semi-final in Dubai which will send one of them into the final. Neither player has played a final so far this year and their level wasn’t that good for much of it. Both have played their best tennis of the year at this event.
Zverev has largely remained aggressive in his tennis which excites fans. It’s not the way he learnt how to play tennis but he’s been making an effort to change that. The serve is working, the groundstrokes are really firing as well and it’s been a really good week for him.
Rublev has improved slowly over the past couple of weeks and he’s now playing with confidence again. For a while, it looked like he really lost trust in his tennis and it was painful to watch. Zverev largely dominated this rivalry in the past winning all five of their matches.
I have a sneaky suspicion that the German is likely the winner again because he seems to be playing a bit better right now and he has the serve advantage. I could see this match going three because I don’t think Rublev is going to lose without taking at least a set.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Novak Djokovic v Daniil Medvedev
Novak Djokovic looked incredible so far at this event and his win over Hurkacz in the quarter-final just confirmed that. He’s facing another player who has looked incredible this week and Medvedev’s win over Coric (6-3 6-2) was something else.
Both of these players enter the match with winning streaks as Djokovic won 20 straight matches and Medvedev won 12 straight matches. They played thirteen times so far with Djokovic leading 9-4. Djokovic has four straight wins over Medvedev with the last one the Russian won being the US Open final.
What can you say about Djokovic anymore? He’s genuinely looking as best he’s ever looked and that’s incredible. Medvedev has been picking up form lately and as looked impossible to beat. It’s matchup that is incredibly hard to predict but there are some things that are likely going to happen.
We will likely see a tiebreak because most of their recent matches featured one. We might even see three sets because they are both playing close to peak right now and it’s likely going to be a very good match. I’ll settle on the over as I have no idea who wins. Likely Djokovic in all fairness.
Tip: Over 20.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Nicolas Jarry v Yannick Hanfmann
There are only two players who performed better during this South American clay tour and they are Carlos Alcaraz and Cameron Norrie. Jarry has genuinely been the 3rd best player in the past month on clay earning 7 wins across several events.
Now he’s playing at home and he faces a tricky player in Yannick Hanfman. The German is a good clay player but he’s been somewhat shaky this year. A good match and then a disappointing performance but Santiago has been decent.
The serve works well and the forehand is good enough to create enough damage but facing Jarry is another matter. Their only clash last year was won by Jarry and it was a clay match.
It’s likely going to happen again as he’s back home, in the city where he was born. Take Jarry to get it done but be aware that Hanfmann might produce something special.
Tip: Jarry to win: 4/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
