Linda Noskova v Irina-Camelia Begu Head to Head

This will be their first meeting on the WTA Tour.

Noskova Making Waves on the Tour

At just 18 years of age, Linda Noskova has positioned herself wonderfully to join the league of Czech tennis legends.

She is the current World No. 54, having a career-high at the 50th spot just last month. Her year-to-date tally stands at 10-4, which includes three top-10 wins over the likes of Ons Jabeur, Victoria Azarenka, and Daria Kasatkina.

Noskova will now make her debut at the BNP Paribas Open and should things go well for her in the opener, her path ahead will likely be dotted with more youngsters like Coco Gauff and Amanda Anisimova.

The odds of her winning aren’t that bad; so far in 2023, she has bagged her first WTA final (Adelaide) and later reached the quarterfinal in Lyon. At the same time, her inexperience and youth were demonstrated by her first-round exits in Lyon and the Australian Open (qualifying).

Begu Coming off a Bleak Spell

Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu started the year well, but her form has gone downhill since. She was a semifinalist in Adelaide 1 where she dismissed Shelby Rogers, Jelena Ostapenko, and Veronika Kudermetova before bowing out to Aryna Sabalenka.

The 32-year-old followed that with a second-round defeat in the Australian Open to Laura Siegemund, and then first-round losses in Linz and Dubai to Clara Tauson and Barbora Krejcikova.

Now ranked #38, Begu finds herself treading tricky waters in a tournament where her best result stands at round three in 2017 and 2021.

Her last two titles came on clay courts in 2022 (Budapest Challenger & Palermo Open), which isn’t surprising considering her preference for the surface.

Noskova v Begu Prediction and Tip

Noskova’s chances of winning this one aren’t too bad, considering the form she has been in and the skillset she possesses. Punters may want to consider backing her for this one while being mindful that this match may see a fair number of games.
