Laslo Djere v Oscar Otte Head to Head

Djere and Otte are tied at 1-1 in their head-to-head. The first meeting was at a Futures tournament nine years ago which was won by the Serb. Otte, however, defeated Djere in the French Open qualies in 2017.

Djere Makes Second Quarterfinal of the Year in Santiago

Laslo Djere enjoyed a productive spell on the South America Golden Swing, reaching his second quarterfinal of the season at the recently-concluded Chile Open.

Djere had scored a top-10 win in Auckland in the opening weeks of the new season, beating Casper Ruud en route to the last eight. But it took him a while to find that kind of form in subsequent tournaments.

He had a couple of treacherous draws on red clay in February, losing to Carlos Alcaraz in Buenos Aires and in-form countryman Dusan Lajovic in Rio.

Last week, he was able to emulate his best showing on the ATP Tour this year, when he defeated Joao Sousa and Riccardo Bonadio en route to the last eight, falling to Sebastian Baez in Santiago.

Otte Retires In Acapulco

Oscar Otte appeared on the verge of losing to 842nd-ranked Jacopo Berrettini – the younger brother of former top-10 player Matteo – in the first round of the Mexican Open.

He was pegged back into the match after dropping the second set, and with Berrettini getting an early break in the third set, Otte was retired with a knee injury.

It remains to be seen how damaging that injury could be or if it was precautionary. But Otte cannot mask the appalling set of results this season. He is 2-7 coming to the Indian Wells Masters, mastering wins over Dalibor Svrcina and out-of-form Christopher Eubanks.

Djere v Otte Prediction and Tip

While it would tempting to pick against a player switching surfaces, there is very little evidence to suggest Otte will take any advantage. In fact, these conditions play right in Djere’s hands and we like the Serbian’s chances here.
