Roberto Bautista Agut v Emil Ruusuvuori Head to Head
They played once so far and Bautista Agut won that match. It was at the 2021 US Open and it was a pretty easy win as Ruusuvuori played a very bad match overall.

Bautista Agut finished his Indian Wells campaigns in the 3rd round for two consecutive years. He’d like to go further this year but his form hasn’t been that great overall. His record is solid 8-6 and the outdoor hard court one is even better at 8-4 but the eye test is different.
He’s going to beat players that are worse than him but he’s not going to beat players that are a bit better than him or even on his level. He isn’t slowing down per se but the precision in his groundstrokes isn’t there anymore. Not at the level that it was before.
It could be a problem here because he’s playing a player that is very aggressive and hits the ball hard. A big bounce could give him a good chance to slap that ball back so Bautista will really need to be precise with his shots in order to gain an upper hand.
If he can do that and keep his serve away from many break chances he should have a decent shot. It’s likely that the match won’t be on his racquet regardless.

Easy Start for Ruusuvuori
Emil Ruusuvuori was demolishing Constant Lestienne when the French player finally retired from the match. It was a good match by him as the serve was working and the groundstrokes were really strong as well with Lestienne having no chance.
He’ll keep playing like that because that’s his game. He lives and dies with it because some days it simply doesn’t work. It didn’t work the last time he faced Bautista Agut but he’s hoping that it will be a bit better this time around.
The match will largely be on his racquet because he’s the more aggressive player who will hit the ball with more power. If he hits it well, Bautista Agut will have a tough time matching that. If he misses more than hits, then he’ll be in trouble.
Form this year hasn’t been that strong with a 6-7 record. He’s 3-5 on outdoor hard courts which is no surprise as he plays better indoors. Whether he finally can turn it around, remains to be seen.

I could see this match as an over as both players are pretty solid on the serve so we could certainly see many games played. For the win, I somehow lean Ruusuvuori but it’s very risky.
