Beatriz Haddad Maia v Katerina Siniakova Head to Head

They played once so far and it happened last year in Guadalajara. It was won by Siniakova in straight sets 7-5 6-2 which was a bit surprising.

Haddad Maia Hopeful of Wins

The Brazilian arrived in Indian Wells after an early exit in Dubai which saw her lose in the first round. She’s had a fairly decent year so far continuing the trend of being of the most consistent tennis players on the tour. He has a 9-5 record so far which is on pace to have her win 40+ matches like she did last year.

Hard courts are a good surface for her because she’s a good server, she moves well and hits the ball really well. She is also not afraid to move forward which is an added bonus for her Indian Wells chances. Last year was a second-round exit but she’s hopeful of going forward this year.

She lost the last time she played Siniakova so she’ll be hopeful of revenge. It wasn’t even that long ago because it was a match in Guadalajara and a pretty easy win for the Czech player.

To do that she’ll need to serve well and be really consistent from the baseline. If she manages to do that she’ll be in a good position.

Siniakova’s Strong Level in Win Over Niemeier

Katerina Siniakova has been playing really strong tennis lately despite the results being all over the place. She’s a streaky player and her results will always be like that but the level she generally produces in matches is pretty good. Certainly above average for her.

The record so far has been 9-5 which is very good and her performance against Niemeier was also pretty decent. The German was not in good form before the match so the win itself wasn’t shocking but the level produced was still pretty good.

Her natural calling card is her groundstrokes which are pretty strong but very streaky. She can be incredibly hard to play when she’s hitting her shots but also quite easy to beat when she’s off. You never quite know which one will show up but I feel like she should be good in this one.

I expect her to take this matchup confidently because she won the previous one easily. Whether she can actually win once more remains to be seen.

Haddad Maia v Siniakova Prediction and Tip

This is an interesting one. Haddad Maia is favoured and I think she’ll win but Siniakova could certainly create a lot of trouble. The reason I favour the Brazilian is her consistency which should play a factor in such a matchup.
