Alexander Zverev v Emil Ruusuvuori Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between them which came at the 2021 Miami Open and surprise, surprise, it was Ruusuvuori who won that from being a set down.

Zverev Finds His Touch against Cachin
After a first round bye, Zverev knew he needed to display some kind of ruthlessness in getting past a clay-court specialist in Pedro Cachin when he took to court for their second round match.
After all, Zverev has had a struggle since returning from his fitness issues and it was only a couple of weeks ago when he featured in the Dubai Open did he finally show signs of getting his lost rhythm back.
Wins over Jiri Lehecka, Christopher O’Connell and Lorenzo Sonego had helped him make the semifinal where he had lost to Andrey Rublev.
To prove – to himself more than anyone else – those results were no flash in the pan, Zverev needed to make things count against Cachin. And he did exactly that, registering a 6-3, 6-1 win over his Argentine opponent in an hour and 17 minutes.
Zverev faced a mere two break-points in the encounter and saved both while getting the better of his opponent’s serve on four occasions. What was particularly refreshing to watch was Zverev’s serving which saw him win 82% of the first serve points and 60% of the second.
Can he now make it two in two against a slightly tougher opponent?

Ruusuvuori Shock for Bautista-Agut
Roberto Bautista-Agut had come into his second round match as a 3/5 favourite against Ruusuvuori but failed to match up to his Finnish opponent.
Ruusuvuori, who had overcome Constant Lestienne in the first round, needed an hour and 46 minutes but carved out a straight-set win over Bautista-Agut in the second. He pocketed the match 7-6 (5), 6-2 to march into the third round of the Indian Wells Masters for the first time in his career.
Things looked to be headed Ruusuvuori’s way in the first set when he broke Bautista-Agut early and served for it at 5-4. The Spaniard broke back to 15 and pushed the set into a tie-breaker which went neck in neck till 5-5.
The Finn proceeded to win the next two points to take the set.
Emboldened by this, Ruusuvuori found himself going 3-1 up in the second set but this time around there was no coming back from Bautista-Agut. In fact as he served to stay in the match at 2-5, Ruusuvuori saved three game-points and then broke again to win the encounter.
This was the first time this season that Ruusuvuori had won successive matches. Can he now surprise Zverev in this one?
Zverev v Ruusuvuori Prediction and Tip
While Zverev will still be a favourite we reckon it won’t be as easy for him when he takes on Ruusuvuori. Could see the match head into a tie-breaker and/or a third set.
