Iga Swiatek v Emma Raducanu Head to Head
Their only previous encounter came at the Stuttgart Open of 2022 where Swiatek won 6-4, 6-4.

Swiatek Made to Work Hard by Andreescu
It’s not often you see Swiatek lose a match. Even less often that she gets pushed to a tie-breaker in an encounter.
Only for the second time this season was Swiatek involved in a tie-breaker and for the second time she found a way to get through it and complete a straight-set win over Bianca Andreescu in the third round of this competition.
In a match that went on for two hours and eight minutes, Swiatek delivered a 6-3, 7-6 (1) win against her Canadian, world number 36 opponent to enter round four.
And this was down to Swiatek unable to find a rhythm with her serving. In the first set, she was broken in the very first game but then made it 1-1 and later broke back the second time to scoop up the set.
The second set looked to be going the world number one’s way when she took a 2-0 lead but suddenly serving issues crept up for her. She lost her serve in the fourth and sixth games and was then serving for the match in the 10th when she dropped her serve for the third time in the set.
It was only in the tie-breaker that Swiatek managed to wrest the initiative and march forward.

Raducanu Surprises Haddad Maia
Raducanu was a 11/10 underdog going into her third round match against Beatriz Haddad Maia but went on to register a three-set win over her Brazilian opponent. This meant she had entered into the round of 16 for the first time at the Indian Wells Open.
In a match lasting two hours and 21 minutes, Raducanu registered a 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 win over her 13th-ranked opponent.
Having defeated Danka Kovinic in her opener and overcome Magda Linette in the second round, Raducanu had entered the match with a semblance of confidence that would have been lacking otherwise given her fitness concerns.
The Brit raced off to an opening set victory, and in a similar fashion lost the second set. In the decider, Raducanu saved a break-point in the fourth point before breaking Haddad Maia in the seventh game.
She had a couple of match-points in the ninth game off her opponent’s serve but in the end won it on her own serve in the 10th game.
Can she now put on a show against the world number one?
Swiatek v Raducanu Prediction and Tip
Swiatek might have been pushed by Andreescu but she should be back to serving at her best here and should take advantage of the slower courts here to clinch this in two.
