Jiri Lehecka v Federico Coria Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came on the Challenger circuit in 2021. It was a match on clay and surprisingly it was Lehecka who came through in two tie-breakers.

He was then bundled out of the Indian Wells Masters in the second round before failing to go past Thanasi Kokkinakis at the Phoenix Challenger last week.
That was the bleak side of things.
On the brighter side, a quarterfinal appearance at the Australian Open has made fans sit up and take notice of Lehecka’s talent. That’s what usually happens when you beat players of the likes of Cameron Norrie and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Later he was also a semifinalist in Doha.
Now that Lehecka faces a player who is heavily invested in his clay-court tennis, he should not face a lot of difficulties.

Coria Goes Down to Schwartzman in Indian Wells
Coria’s struggles on any surface other than clay have been well-chronicled. So much so that it’s a surprise when he attempts to feature in such non-clay competitions like was the case recently at the Indian Wells Open.
The Argentine was up against fellow countryman Diego Schwartzman who has been struggling for positive results in recent times. Such had been Schwartzman’s horrendous run, he had a 1-6 win-loss record leading up to the Indian Wells Open.
And Coria not only lost to Schwartzman but also managed to capture a mere three games in the entire match.
Playing against Leehcka, one cannot expect Coria to do any better with the Miami Masters being nothing but a quick pit-stop for the Argentine before the resumption of the clay-court events.
