Nao Hibino v Martina Trevisan Head to Head
They played twice so far and both times was on a hard court and both were last year’s. Trevisan won both matches in straight sets.

Nao Hibino is currently on a 3-match winning streak after racing through the qualifiers and winning her 1st round match here in Miami. She hasn’t been that good here in the past but found something good here after a few good weeks on the Tour.
Her record so far is 10-8 which is pretty good and all of those wins came on hard courts where she plays her best tennis. Three of them came in Miami with some impressive wins both in the qualifiers and the one over Danka Kovinic in round one.
She had a negative H2H against the Montenegrin but found a way to win the match and it’s largely to do with the conditions. Her tennis suits this kind of surface and she’s now played a few matches and she’s doing really well.
Her opponent won’t have that luxury and that’s what might ultimately make or break this matchup. Tennis is a streaky sport anyways.

Terrible Year for Trevisan
Martina Trevisan had some impressive moments early on in the year like when she defeated Maria Sakkari at the United Cup but since then it’s been pretty poor.
She’s always been a predominantly clay player but she can play well on hard court. She’s quick around the court and moves really well which should aid her in Miami. Despite that, I just don’t see how she can beat Hibino even though she did it twice.
She’s not playing well, her confidence is not there at this moment and that’s half of her tennis. If she can’t play the aggressive and bold style that she enjoys playing it’s not going to end well.
She’s 3-8 on the year and I don’t see things getting that much better until she finally hits the red dirt again. Unfortunately, Miami is a hard court event.
