Ben Shelton v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 20 year old American, and his French opponent, 14 years older.

Shelton is already tipped as the next big thing to come out of American tennis, after reaching six Challenger finals in 2022, winning three of them, And he gave hints of fulfilling his potential when he reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January.
Since then Shelton has only played in three tournaments, and was beaten in the first round in both Delray Beach and Acapulco. In Indian Wells, where he was making his debut, just as he is here in Miami, he beat Fabio Fognini of Italy in the first round.
However, he was then defeated by the defending champion and compatriot Taylor Fritz, despite taking the first set of him.
Shelton was given a first round bye in Florida.

Mannarino Given Fright by Teenage Qualifier
Mannarino has a reputation for inconsistency, capable of long fallow periods where he struggles for results, and then, almost out of the blue, winning a tournament like Winston-Salem last year.
2023, so far, has been part of an up cycle in terms of results, with quarter-finals in Dallas and Delray Beach already under his belt.
And he also reached the third round in Indian Wells, beating both Dominic Thiem and Lorenzo Musetti, before bowing out to Jannik Sinner.
He has a reasonable record in Miami, having twice previously reached the fourth round here, and he began his latest campaign against the teenage Chinese qualifier Juncheng Shang.
When Shang blasted through the first set for the loss of just one game, Mannarino was looking down the barrel of an upset. But he rallied to level the match, and then used his experience to ease away in the third set.
Shelton v Mannarino Prediction and Tip
This is a battle between youth and experience, and between an up and coming star and somebody who has been on tour for many years.
Shelton will want to mark his debut in Miami with a victory, and Mannarino will have to play better than he did in the first round if he is to stop him.
