Milos Raonic v Sam Querrey Head to Head
There have been five previous encounters between these two players and Raonic just holds the edge at 3-2. The duo met for the first time all the way back in 2012 and Querrey overcame the loss of the first set in that Wimbledon second round match to win it in three.
There was one other match that Raonic conceded before he even took court because of injury but the one both will remember is their previous meeting at the Indian Wells Masters last season which Raonic won in three tough sets.
Raonic Looking for a Push
A win-loss record of 7-4 isn’t the worst ever for the start of the season for Raonic, but his biggest worry would be the way he’s gone in non-majors this year. And by majors, one obviously is looking at just the Australian Open which saw him make the quarter-final before he lost to Lucas Pouille. It was one encounter he would have gone in as a favourite.
However, it’s the smaller competitions that have seen Raonic struggle. A quarter-final exit at the Brisbane International, a second round loss at Rotterdam Open and then a shock defeat at the hands of Jan-Lennard Struff in the first round at Dubai means he enters the Indian Wells Masters with some sort of a form battle.

Previous Quarter-Finalist Querrey Hoping for a Push
Querrey is coming off a 7-6, 2-6, 6-4 win in his first round match against Matteo Berrettini at this tournament, but his best performance of the year came at the New York Open earlier this season when he reached the semi-final. A defeat to Schnur Brayden in that match would have come as a surprise but with first and second round exits at the other tournaments he’s played in this season, it would been a saving grace.
The American has been a one-time world number 11 and as the head to head above suggests, he has had the experience of beating Raonic in the past – it’s just about whether he can find his rhythm in a three-set match and surprise the Canadian early enough.
Milos Raonic v Sam Querrey Tips & Predictions
Raonic is 1/2 to win this but it’s tough not to see Querrey find his rhythm and trouble his Canadian opponent and win at least a set.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 8/5 (betway) or Querrey to win a set: 3/5 (betway)
