Carlos Alcaraz v Dusan Lajovic

Carlos Alcaraz smashed his opponent in the previous round showcasing excellent form which was the case during his Indian Wells title run as well. The Spaniard should be even more dangerous in Miami because the courts play quite a bit faster making it easier for him to hit winners.

We’ve seen it last year when he made a run for the trophy here and it’s likely he does that again. Dusan Lajovic is playing some of the best tennis he’s played in a very long time. Still, it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll be able to stop Alcaraz though he did play really well against him on clay recently.

The problem for Lajovic will be the power that Alcaraz brings to his matches. It’s very hard to counter and he doesn’t have the tool for it. He’ll have to serve as well as he did recently in order to give himself a chance but even then it might not be enough.

I predict a really easy win for Alcaraz though keep in mind that this play is rather risky.

Tip: Under 17.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Taylor Fritz v Denis Shapovalov

Taylor Fritz and Denis Shapovalov have played quite a few times over the years with the Canadian actually leading 6-3. Despite that, we’ve seen Fritz beat Shapovalov in a few important matches like the Tokyo final last year. Their last match was played in Vienna and Shapovalov won that match but Fritz was injured.

It’s a fun matchup for both players and they like playing against each other. They also know each other really well so there are no surprises there. Neither is playing in the best of forms but Fritz looks a bit more sure of what he’s doing on the court.

The key for winning for both players will be the serve and how well they can keep it. I suspect Fritz will win this match and I think it’s going to be simpler than many people expect.

It’s likely we see three sets or two close sets but I think Fritz gets this done sooner. I simply like the way he plays right now over Shapovalov.

Tip: Under 22.5 games in the match: 1/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Jannik Sinner v Grigor Dimitrov

Jannik Sinner made a few good runs in Miami in the past and I really like him to make another one. He showed a high level in Indian Wells last week and I think he’ll bring a similar one here as well. Dimitrov is a player he never beat before but he’s playing better than him.

The conditions favour Sinner as well so it’s likely that he’ll get this done far easier than people expect it. Dimitrov is solid and can make your life quite miserable if you allow him but I just don’t see him being able to stay with Sinner in rallies.

His serve might carry him for a bit but eventually, Sinner should take control of the match with his powerful groundstrokes. Being the player who is more willing to risk should also help him a great deal, especially in any tiebreak scenario.

Overall I favour him to win in two straight sets because he’s a better player right now with more confidence in his game.

Tip: Sinner to win in straight sets: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
