Sebastian Baez v Radu Albot Head to Head
Baez and Albot have never faced off before this.

Baez Struggled in the Sunshine Swing
Having received a first round bye at both, the Indian Wells Masters and Miami Masters, Baez ended up winning just one of the three matches he played in those two tournaments in March.
That wasn’t too much of a surprise to be honest given Baez’s preference for clay.
In fact in all of his career, the Argentine has won two ATP titles on clay – including once here in Estoril as well – but on surfaces other than that, he has a win-loss record of 8-24! That’s quite poor by anyone’s standards but more so for a player who is ranked 33rd in the world.
Baez is just 22 years old, so there will always be that opportunity to improve his game but for now his focus will be back to clay where he has won a title this season and was a semifinalist at the Santiago Open.

Albot Switches Over to Least Favourite Surface
While on the one hand Baez loves his time on clay, Albot’s not had the best of times on this surface. Of the 24 titles that Albot has won across Futures, Challengers and the ATP Tour, 19 of those were in hardcourt competitions and just five on clay.
None of those clay court title wins have come after 2016 either.
More recently, over the last two seasons, Albot has won just one main draw match on clay and even that had come in 2021 in Umag.
With that kind of an underwhelming record under his belt in clay-court competitions and with Albot having not won a main draw match over the past four tournaments he’s played this year either, things could continue to remain difficult for the Moldovan player.
Baez v Albot Prediction and Tip
It seems a straightforward enough win for Baez who, we reckon, should come through in two.
