Thiago Monteiro v Yannick Hanfmann Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before on the clay of Bastad two years ago, Hanfmann winning in straight sets.

Monteiro had a disappointing start to the season, and it took him until he was playing in front of his home crowd in Rio in late February, before he even won a match.
A quarter-final appearance in Santiago was more a sign of his true potential, but his time on the American hard courts did not go as he would have liked.
He was beaten in the first round in Indian Wells by Guido Pella, and though he did progress through to the second round in Miami, his challenge was ended by Felix Augur-Aliassime.
If he can take any satisfaction from that defeat, it is that he at least made the Canadian work hard for his victory, taking him to two tie-breaks.
He has not played since, and this will be his first match this year in Europe.

Houston Semi-Finalist Hanfmann
Born partially deaf, Hanfmann has been granted a wildcard into what is a home event for him.
Clay is his preferred surface, with both his senior finals coming on it, although, each time, he had to settle for the loser’s cheque, at the Swiss Open in 2017, and in Kitzbuhel three years later.
More recently, he was also a beaten finalist, again on clay, in a Challenger tournament in Brazil last October.
Now 31, Hanfmann will come into this tournament filled with renewed confidence after his recent performances in Houston.
There he not only came through two rounds of qualifying to make the main draw, but he proceeded to make his way to the semi-finals, before losing in straight sets to the Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
Monteiro v Hanfmann Prediction and Tip
Although Monteiro is the higher ranked player, Hanfmann is tipped to win this match.
He has the benefit of home conditions, and he is in some form, judging by what he achieved in Houston, which is more than can be said for Monteiro.
