Taylor Fritz v Marton Fucsovics Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players before this and Fritz had won that. It came at the Indian Wells Masters earlier this year.

It was one of Fritz’s best performance on clay as he marched into the semifinals of the Monte-Carlo Masters. It was his first ever appearance in the semis of a clay-court competition in the Masters 1000 series of events, and the manner in which it came was also a joy to behold.
Following a first round bye, Fritz faced three potentially tricky opponents in the form of Stan Wawrinka, Jiri Lehecka and the two-time defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas. And each time, he battled past them to enter the last four.
Wawrinka had his chance in the first set’s tie-breaker which went on for 22 points. Lehecka went one better by winning the first set. But the biggest joy for Fritz would have come against Tsitsipas whom he easily routed in straight sets.
He will now come into this match against Fucsovics as a heavy favourite with his opponent having stuttered to an opening round win.

Fucsovics Finds it Difficult in Munich Opener
Max Rehberg is a 19-year-old who has never seen the inside of the top 400 on the ATP Rankings charts. Against Fucsovics he had two match-points to win the match in straight sets and break into that top-400 but his higher-ranked opponent found a way to somehow extricate himself out of trouble and win the contest.
Fucsovics grabbed the contest 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3 to make it to the second round for the first time on clay since the French Open last year.
In a match lasting two hours and 40 minutes, Fucsovics dropped his serve in the seventh game of the first set and then rallied from two breaks down in the second to find himself down two match-points in the tie-breaker.
He went on to win four points in a row to grab the equaliser and then got himself two breaks of serves in the final set to proceed to round two.
Things won’t be getting any easier for him against Fritz.
Fritz v Fucsovics Prediction and Tip
The difference in form and overall pedigree is very evident here even counting for this being clay. Fritz can be expected to win in straight sets.
