Holger Rune v Botic van de Zandschulp Head to Head

Rune Breezes Past O’Connell
Holger Rune improved to 8-0 in Munich as the defending champion knocked out surprise semifinalist Christopher O’Connell in straight sets on Saturday.
Rune saved all the eight break points he faced against the Aussie and converted 3 of 4 to win the one hour and 20 minute contest 6-3, 6-2.
He has not dropped a set this week, having beaten Yannick Hanfmann 6-3, 6-4 in the round of 16 and Cristian Garín 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinal.
Seeded no. 1 in the tournament, Rune will be playing his second consecutive final. He lost to Andrey Rublev in the title clash in Monte-Carlo last Sunday.
With a 7-1 record on clay this season, he is looking in great touch and is the favourite to win a fourth career title in what will be his seventh tour final.

Van de Zandschulp Knocks Out Fritz
Fourth seed Botic Van de Zandschulp is back in the Munich final after a solid win over second seed Taylor Fritz in the semifinal on Saturday.
The Dutchman, who withdrew from last year’s final due to chest pain, will be looking to finish the job this year. This is the second time he has reached in a tour-level final and is expected to give his all as he chases his maiden title.
The 27-year-old world no. 29 is in good touch in the tournament, having reached the summit clash without dropping a set. He began with a straight sets drubbing of Aslan Karatsev in round of 16, then battled past Marcos Giron in a tough two-setter in the quarterfinal.
In the semifinal, the Dutchman was given a tough fight by another American, but he saw off the world no. 10, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) in an hour and 50 minute contest.
Can Van de Zandschulp pull off a surprise win on Sunday?
