Dalma Galfi v Caty McNally Head to Head
McNally leads 1-0, last beating Galfi in the 2019 WTA Houston in three sets.

McNally Coming off a Bleak Run
World No. 69 Caty McNally has had a slow season so far. With a record of 6-7, the 21-year-old American looks to make up for her dull start in Madrid.
It is going to be difficult as the youngster’s strength has always been competing on turfs other than clay. Over the years, most of her wins have come on hard courts.
In 2023, McNally’s best result came in Merida, where she was a semifinalist – beating Lin Zhu, Katie Volynets, and Kimberly Birrell en route. Her last tournament was in Charleston where she went down fighting to Shelby Rogers in the second round in three sets.
On the doubles side of things, however, Caty has fared a lot better overall. She has 10 finals to her name already – which includes consecutive US Open runner-up feats in 2021 and 2022. She also took home the Merida Open Doubles title with Diane Parry this season.

Galfi, Seeking Redemption
It has not been an easy start for Hungary’s Dalma Galfi either. She is now 7-11 but has the advantage of competing on clay – which is much more to her game.
Admittedly, though, her performance in the last couple of events does not inspire confidence. Galfi competed in San Luis Potosi Challenger, where she was beaten by Kaja Juvan in round two. Next up, she featured in Charleston and succumbed to Irina-Camelia Begu in the opener.
Dalma’s best showing came in Linz, where she made it to the quarterfinal as a qualifier.
Looking at her trophy collection, she has 6 ITF clay finals and a runner-up silverware from the Contrexeville Open in July 2022.
Galfi v McNally Prediction and Tip
In all fairness, this match can go either way. Galfi has some advantages as she will be playing in her element – especially against a player who is going through a rough patch herself. Of course, McNally is capable of turning the tides quickly.
