Ana Bogdan v Anna Bondar Head to Head
They played two times so far and it’s 1-1. The most recent one was won by Bondar earlier this year in Australia.

Bogdan Hopeful for Wins
It’s not been a very good year for Ana Bogdan so far with her overall record being only 6-8 on the year. She didn’t however play any matches on clay this year and it’s her best surface so her overall record will likely improve as the season goes on.
Bogdan posted a 20-8 record on it last year but her play generally has been very up and down. She wins a match and the she losses a match and there is very little consistency in her play or results.
Madrid has never been the best event for her as she played in the first round the last few times she played here without any kind of deep run. She likes to play aggressively and I expect her to play very aggressively because that’s the type of play that goes well in Madrid.
Whether she can actually beat Bondar remains to be seen but she won their only clay matchup in the past so that might be an indicator.

Bondar Improving Lately
It’s not been the best of years for Bondar so far with only a 6-10 record so far. She played two matches on clay but both matches were losses which is somewhat strange as her best surface by far has been clay.
She posted a 25-12 record last year on it and a 47-16 record the year before that. This year has been somewhat disappointing with her recent outing in Oeiras another disappointing outing.
She could certainly find something inspiring in Madrid though she didn’t advance that deep in Madrid before. Her previous outing finished in the first round and in that way, both she and Bogdan are quite similar.
Bondar won their only meeting this year but their only clay match several years ago was won by Bogdan. It’s going to be a tricky one but certainly could go either way. I expect a solid effort from Bondar as she hopes to finally snap out of this funk.
Bogdan v Bondar Prediction and Tip
This is going to be an interesting match that I think will go to three sets. I don’t know who will win though Bogdan seems more likely because it’s on clay.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 20.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
