Andreeva’s Incredible Two Upsets in Madrid

15-year-old Mirra Andreeva won two matches in Madrid after getting a chance to play at the event with an invitation. The Russian will turn 16 on the day of the match and she will look to give herself the perfect present by advancing to the 4th round at her first WTA 1000 event.

It’s been an incredible breakthrough from the youngster who is yet to lose a match this year. She is 15-0 right now since the start of the year and that’s just proof that there is more than just talent here. She defeated Leylah Fernandez in the first round which was a surprise but not a huge one considering how bad the Canadian is playing.

Her next win though was quite impressive as she defeated a very sturdy player in Beatriz Hadda Maia who is playing much better than Fernandez right now. Both wins came in straight sets and she showed great poise on the court as well as just tennis talent.

The serve is good, she can hit winners and she can defend with some of the best of them. It’s a name we will all remember going forward because she might as well win this one. Her tennis was better than that of Linette so far.

Linette Surprises Vondrousova

Magda Linette was able to earn a pretty big win over a clay specialist Marketa Vondrousova who is playing really well at the moment. Linette has had a very good year so far with a 14-10 record. She’s 2-1 on clay and generally plays at a really decent level posting a 10-7 record last year.

Her match here was a very good win and she played okay but nothing special. It was actually Vondrousova who struggled in Madrid making this win a bit less impressive than it would have been two weeks ago.

She never played Andreeva and her preparation for the match will be tricky because there is just not much known about the young Russian. SHe will need to play her game if she hopes to win because generally, she’s not that good at defending.

If she keeps attacking and her groundstrokes do a lot of damage than she can certainly win. She has a lot of fight in her so Andreeva will face a player that will never give up on a rally or match. If she handles it well I don’t think Linette can win.

Andreeva v Linette Prediction and Tip

I will simply back the youngster her because it’s her birthday and I’ve been quite impressed with her tennis. If she plays as well as she can she will win.
