Jaume Munar v Matteo Arnaldi Head to Head
Munar and Arnaldi will be facing off for the third time in their careers and second time on the ATP circuit. Munar beat Arnaldi in a Challenger tournament in 2022 before his opponent had his revenge as recently as last week in Barcelona.

Munar Makes it Through Following Griekspoor’s Injury
It looked to be heading towards a gruelling match ahead when it took Munar 53 minutes to win the first set in a tie-breaker against Tallon Griekspoor. Unfortunately for his Dutch opponent, he wasn’t able to continue because of a leg-related injury with Munar helping Griekspoor to his chair at the end of the opening set too.
What this means is that Munar has now won back to back matches in an ATP tournament this season for only the second time.
The last time he did that was at the Santiago Open where the Spaniard reached the quarterfinal and went on to defeat Thiago Monteiro to make it three in three. He then lost three in a row before making it to the second round at both, the Marrakesh Open and Monte-Carlo Masters.
More recently, Munar was knocked out in the first round in Barcelona by Matteo Arnaldi himself.
Can he turn that around here?

Arnaldi Stuns Ruud
If it was a forgettable season for Casper Ruud till before this tournament, it’s now become a puzzlingly shocking one for the former world number two.
Known for his performances on clay, Ruud fell in the second round to the little-known Arnaldi. And not just that. Arnaldi would be rather proud to have taken down the Norwegian number one in the manner he did.
In a match lasting an hour and 35 minutes, Arnaldi won 6-3, 6-4 on the back of three breaks of serves in the encounter. What was more fascinating was that Ruud had seven opportunities to break his opponent but Arnaldi saved six of those.
This follows a couple of wins in the qualifiers for Arnaldi before he sent out Benoit Paire in the first round in a fighting three-setter.
Can he now make it two in two against Munar?
Munar v Arnaldi Prediction and Tip
Munar will be wary of a player who has not only beaten him last week but also coming into this with a straight-set rout of the world number four. Backing Arnaldi to hold the edge here.
