Laslo Djere v Cristian Garin Head to Head
At the highest level their only previous meeting came in Montreal in 2019 and Garin had won that one. They did face off one other time on clay and that came on the Challenger circuit in 2017 with Djere coming through.

Djere Skips Past van de Zandschulp
It was expected to be a bit of a fight but Djere had no trouble getting past Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp in their second round match. In a match lasting an hour and 26 minutes, Djere overcame van de Zandschulp 6-2, 6-4.
Djere was clinical on his opponent’s serve, breaking him every single time he got a chance. In turn, he had six break-points against him and Djere saved them all. What was so good to see from Djere’s perspective is his second serve percentage was at a 65% to go with a first serve rate of 70%.
This follows an even easier first round win for Djere where he had gobbled up the opening set 6-1 against Constant Lestienne before he retired from the match.
The Banja Luka quarterfinalist had earlier lost in the first round of the Madrid Masters but then made the final of the Cagliari Challenger last week.

Garin Makes it Success Three-Set Wins
For the sixth tournament in a row, Garin managed to win two consecutive tournaments when he defeated Tommy Paul in round two at the Italian Open.
Garin overcame a first set deficit to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a match lasting two hours and 39 minutes to seal his third round berth. Before this, Garin had made the fourth round of the Indian Wells Masters and the third round at each of Miami, Houston, Munich and Madrid.
The two were evenly poised at 4-4 in the first set with Paul broke Garin to take the lead. The duo then exchanged four breaks of serve to take them to 3-3 in the second set before Garin edged past his opponent with a decisive break in the eighth game.
An early break for Garin helped him go 2-0 up before Paul broke back and levelled out at 2-2. Another break of serve followed in the fifth game of the deciding set following which Garin lost just two points on serve to grab his place in the third round.
He will hope to better his Madrid showing now.
Djere v Garin Prediction and Tip
Djere is a bit of a favourite here at 5/6 but we think Garin has the game on clay to take care of his opponent and we will be backing him here.
Tips:
- Low Risk Tip: Over 8.5 games in the first set: 4/11
- Moderate Risk Tip: Garin to win: 10/11
