Elena Rybakina v Anna Kalinskaya Head to Head
It is 2-1 to Rybakina. They have met twice in 2023 already, with each player earning a win. They last met in Madrid just a few days ago, where Kalinskaya won in three sets.

Kalinskaya Starts Well
World No. 57 Anna Kalinskaya has had a decent run in Rome so far. In the first match, she knocked out Dayana Yastremska 6-4, 6-2 and followed it with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over the 25th seed Elise Mertens.
Following the two wins, Kalinskaya has reached her second consecutive round three on the WTA Tour. The last instance was in Madrid, where she fell to Petra Martic.
Looking at Anna’s overall form this season, the 24-year-old has bagged 15 wins while losing 11 matches. Her best results have come on clay (7-2) – the highlight being her quarterfinal show in Charleston, where she beat Alize Cornet, Anhelina Kalinina, and Victoria Azarenka en route.
At the moment, Kalinskaya is ranked World No. 57 and lacks the kind of pedigree or top-tier experience that Rybakina has.

Rybakina Survives Paolini
Number seven seed Elena Rybakina was put to the test in her opening match with Italy’s Jasmine Paolini. With the match lasting for a little over 90 minutes, Rybakina got the win 7-6(4), 6-1 by serving six aces and winning 64% of the points behind the first serve.
The Kazakh is now 25-7 this year and ranked #6. It has been a wonderful season for the current Wimbledon champion. Her best moments are her runner-up feat in the Australian Open and Miami Open and title run in the Indian Wells Open.
In these big events, Elena handed defeats to the likes of Jessica Pegula, Paula Badosa, Iga Swiatek, Sofia Kenin, and Aryna Sabalenka.
However, on clay, the 23-year-old has failed to emulate such results. She retired early in Stuttgart against Beatriz Haddad Maia and lost to Kalinskaya in her opening game in Madrid.
Rybakina v Kalinskaya Prediction and Tip
The two players have quite a bit of history and have played each other a few times this year. That will obviously come to matter in this match; Rybakina will start as the favourite but not by a huge margin. The dynamics of her lack of form of clay and Kalinskaya’s superior momentum on the surface will be interesting to follow.
Tips:
- Low-Risk Tip: Rybakina to win: 4/5
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 5/6
