Our 2023 WTA Rabat Open Predictions & Picks
Maria Sakkari has played this event once in her career and won the tournament in 2019. Amusingly, it’s her only WTA title thus far. So chances of adding a second title are very high considering that she is the sole top-10 player in the draw.
Martina Trevisan faces an uphill battle in order to keep her top 20 ranking. She’ll most certainly need to defend her crown this week to do that.
Egypt’s Mayar Sherif had a breakthrough run at the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid where she tallied some impressive wins over the likes of Anhelina Kalinina, Caroline Garcia, and Elise Mertens. Africa’s best hopes lie on Sherif’s shoulders and looks a decent bet to capture her second WTA crown.
Outside that trio, the likes of Sloane Stephens and Elisabetta Cocciaretto are certainly names to keep an eye on – both have enjoyed low-key runs at WTA 12K tournaments on clay this season.
- Outright Winner Tip: Maria Sakkari
- Outright Winner Dark Horse Tip: Mayar Sherif
