Kecmanovic’s Recent Results Erratic

Kecmanovic already has two finals under his belt this year, although he had to settle for the loser’s cheque each time in Delray Beach and Estoril. Both tournaments, however, demonstrated the Serb’s versatility and ability to cope with all types of surface.

He will be hoping this year to improve on his record at the French Open, where his third round appearance in 2022 was the best he has managed so far in his career.

Results since Estoril have been erratic, though. He was beaten in the first round in Monte Carlo, but bounced back by reaching the semi-finals in Banja Luka.

However, that was followed by two successive first round defeats, in Madrid, and, most recently Rome, where he lost to the Italian favourite, Fabio Fognini.

With a three-match losing streak under his belt, Kecmanovic might have been a bit tentative taking on Tomas Etcheverry in this opener but the Argentine’s withdrawal leaves him with a good chance to win after while.

Roca Batalla Fortunate to Make it Through

Till last week, Roca Batalla was playing on the Futures circuit, suffering back to back first round losses on clay there.

It was followed by a struggling three-set win over Kyrian Jacquet and an equally gritty loss at the hands of Zhizhen Zhang which meant that Roca Batalla was on his way out of the competition.

Fortunately for Roca Batalla, Etcheverry’s withdrawal from the tournament meant he could make it through to the main draw, a rare chance for him to feature at that level.

Over the years he has featured in just one ATP tournament and that came way back in 2018 when he made the second round of the Gstaad Open. He has an onerous task of doubling his career win count here but for now, he might well be enjoying this rare moment of success.

Kecmanovic v Roca Batalla Prediction and Tip

Kecmanovic is a huge favourite and should come through in straight sets. Not expecting this match to go too long.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Kecmanovic to win in straight sets: 1/3
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Under 19.5 games in the match: 5/6
