Zapata Miralles also enters this tournament on the back of a fourth round appearance at the Madrid Masters where he overcame Mackenzie McDonald, Dan Evans and Roman Safiullin.
At the Rome Masters which followed, Zapata Miralles was given a first round bye as a result of his move up on the rankings charts and he managed to defeat Jason Kubler in the second round.
He also took a set off Daniil Medvedev in the third before the eventual finalist clinched the encounter in three sets.
Zapata Miralles will start off knowing this could well be a good chance to get close to winning his maiden ATP title.

Sachko Makes it Through the Qualifiers
Having made his ATP main draw debut in 2020, Sachko hasn’t had too much success going his way at the highest level.
As a result, the two-time Challenger finalist Sachko has never advanced beyond his career-best ranking of 220th in the world. The good news for the Ukrainian player is that he has shown bit of a turnaround this season.
Sachko did not make it through to the second round in the first five Challenger tournaments he played this season but since then there has been a bit of a turnaround. A quarterfinal at the Lugano Challenger was followed by another such showing in Lille.
And he followed it up with another quarterfinal appearance in Morelos.
Here in Geneva, Sachko has already overcome Ilya Marchenko and Alessandro Giannessi to make the main draw. That, unfortunately, might be the last of his showing here for the week.
