Kai Kanepi v Clara Burel Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 37-year old Estonian, and her French opponent, fifteen years her junior.

Kanepi may now be at the veteran stage of her career, and her best days lie in the past, but the Estonian remains a fine player on her day, as the Chinese player Xinyu Wang, the world number 78, found to her cost in their first round match.
The Estonian started the match on the back foot by dropping her opening service game, but she did not panic, eased herself into the contest, and then broke not once, but twice in succession to claim the first set.
And then two more breaks put her in complete control of the second set, and, from there she was able to cruise to what turned out to be a comfortable victory.
The fact that she did not have to spend too long on court, means that her 37 year old legs were not over taxed.

Burel Knocks Out Fifth Seed
Burel had been struggling for results on the main tour this year, but she produced one of the best results of the first round by knocking out the fifth seed, Sorana Cirstea of Romania, in straight sets.
The Frenchwoman seized an early initiative by breaking Cirstea in the opening game of the match.
But the Romanian hit back to level, and, after swapping breaks again, although both had break point opportunities, there was nothing else to separate them in the first set, which meant a tie-break.
Again both had chances, but Burel took hers at the right time to claim the first set,
When Burel dropped her opening two service games of the second set, a Romanian comeback was very much on the cards. But Burel clawed first one of them, and then the other back, and the scores were level again.
Cirstea served to stay in the match in a game that proved to be the longest of the match. Five match points came and went, but Burel was finally able to convert the sixth.
Kanepi v Burel Prediction and Tip
Experience battles youth in this encounter. Burel will be buoyed by her defeat of Cirstea, and will have local crowd support, but Kanepi is a wily competitor, and should prove too strong for her French opponent.
