Cameron Norrie v David Goffin Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and both were won by Norrie. The first came in 2021 in Barcelona on clay and the next one in 2022 at Wimbledon.

Norrie was one of those few top-20 players to have participated in the South American clay swing earlier this year and even went on to win a title.
He was the runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz in another such tournament on clay and while he hasn’t been able to maintain that similar form in Europe, a 12-5 win-loss record on this surface sounds like a good one to have.
The Brit would have loved to do better at the Monte-Carlo Masters and the Madrid Masters though.
At the former, he lost in the first round to Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets. Zhizhen Zhang then sent him packing in the third round at Madrid.
More recently he made the fourth round of the Rome Masters before bowing out to an angry Novak Djokovic, who blamed him for unsporting behaviour. Can Norrie now put that all behind him and fine-tune his French Open preparation with a solid showing here.

Goffin Eases Past Lopez San Martin
It was never expected to be a difficult one for Goffin and he lived up to the pre-match odds on offer for his win as he came through against the 298th-ranked Alvaro Lopez San Martin in his opener.
Goffin was on court for an hour an 17 minutes in which he registered a 6-1, 6-3 win that helped him emulate his performance in this very tournament in 2021 as well. He faced just one break-point in the entire match and saved it with ease, even as he got 17 breaking opportunities.
What’s interesting to see is that while he did break Lopez San Martin four times in the match, Goffin also missed 13 of those chances. He cannot afford to miss out those many against a player of the calibre of Norrie.
