Casper Ruud v Nicolas Jarry Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players and that came at the 2022 Seoul Open. Ruud had won that in three sets.

Ruud Goes Past Wolf
JJ Wolf tried his best to mount a comeback but Ruud showed his pedigree on clay to race past his American opponent in straight sets to reach the quarterfinal.
In a second round match that lasted an hour and 20 minutes, Ruud carved out a 6-3, 7-5 win and take a step closer to make it three titles in a row in Geneva.
Ruud, who had a first round bye, faced two break-points and saved both of them while getting past his opponent’s serve on two occasions. The first break of serve came in the very second game of the encounter while the second came in the second-last.
The Norwegian number one then faced both his break-points in the final game of the game as he looked to serve it out, clinching the match.
He will now face a slightly more difficult challenge in the form of a clay-court specialist in the last eight.

Jarry Gets a Griekspoor Walkover
We had spoken about Tallon Griekspoor’s fitness woes in Madrid because of which he had to even the Rome Masters two weeks ago. And while Griekspoor had come back and won his first round match here against Stefano Travaglia, he opted to withdraw from round two against Jarry.
As a result Jarry makes it to his third quarterfinal of the season, having earlier reached the last four at Rio and entered the final in Santiago.
Jarry had also won successive matches at the Monte-Carlo Masters to reach round three but has struggled to get going since then. In fact before coming into this tournament, the Chilean player had lost four of his previous five matches.
Which is also why his opening round win over Dusan Lajovic in which he lost just six games, would not have done his confidence too much harm here.
Can he test Ruud in this one?
Ruud v Jarry Prediction and Tip
Ruud is usually good in making his way through to the title-deciders of ATP 250s and now that he has had a start, it might be difficult to usurp him. Jarry does have the game for clay and he might give Ruud a bit of a fight but that’s all we can expect.
Tips:
- High Risk Tip: Ruud to win AND Over 21.5 games: 11/8
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 22.5 games in the match: 5/6
