Musetti at Career-Best Ranking
21-year-old Musetti will enter this year’s French Open having made it to a world ranking of 18th, which is his career-best. And that has been thanks to his performances at the United Cup and in more recent times, on clay.
After having gotten knocked in the first round at the Australian Open and then failing to do anything of note in South America or at the Indian Wells or Miami Masters, Musetti turned things around at the Monte-Carlo Masters.
He shocked Novak Djokovic on his way to making it to the quarterfinal there before entering the semifinal of the Barcelona Open.
And while Musetti was knocked out in the second round of the Madrid Masters, he made it up with a fourth round appearance in Rome.
Having gotten knocked out the tournament in the first round last season, Musetti will hope to turn things around this year.

Ymer Hoping for a Cooler Start to the Competition
It’s not the best way to come into a tournament of this magnitude but Ymer will hope his issues at the Lyon Open are behind him.
The Swede, playing in the second round in the week before the French Open, was down a break at 5-6 in the first set of his match against Arthur Fils when he was disqualified from the tournament because of an outburst. A frustrated Ymer smashed his racquet at the chair umpire’s chair and was defaulted from the match.
Ymer had earlier overcome Richard Gasquet in the first round, in what was his first ATP match on clay for the season.
What’s interesting to note is that Ymer enters this tournament having made it to the third round on two previous occasions, in 2021 and 2022 and is now ranked 53rd in the world which is just three away from his career-best.
Can he make things difficult for Musetti?
