Jil Teichmann v Sara Errani Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before.
This will be the first match between the 25 year old Swiss player, and the Italian, eleven years her senior.

Teichmann Reached Fourth Round Last Year
Last year, Teichmann reached the fourth round of this event, her best result to date in a Grand Slam. And that came after an impressive run of form that saw her reach the last eight in Madrid, and the semi-finals in Rome.
A year further on, and some of those results are starting to feel like a distant memory for the Swiss, who has been struggling for consistency.
In fact, after reaching the third round in Indian Wells, she was beaten in the first round of her next four WTA events, including both Madrid and Rome this time.
Teichmann was able to snap that dismal sequence by winning her first match in Strasbourg, defeating Maryna Zanevska of Belgium in three sets. But Emma Navarro of USA brought her run to an end, coming from behind to win in three sets.

Errani Likes Her Time on Clay
Back in 2012, Errani reached the final of the French Open, only to lose in straight sets to Maria Sharapova. And the following year, she reached the semi-finals in Paris.
And, with long-term doubles partner Roberta Vinci, she won the event in 2012, and was a runner-up in each of the two following years.
That was, though a decade ago, and she is now, at the age of 36, heading into the twilight of her career. It has been seven years since she last won a WTA title, although she has been a winner on the ITF tour this year in the USA, and was the beaten finalist in a Challenger event in April.
Beaten in the first round in Rome, she entered a Challenger event in Florence to get more practice on clay, but lost in the quarter-finals there.

Teichmann has been struggling of late, but she has eleven years on the Italian veteran, and, if she can hang in there long enough, her superior match fitness should count.
