Frances Tiafoe v Filip Krajinovic Head to Head
Krajinovic leads 2-1 at the tour level and 3-1 overall. Tiafoe’s only win over the Serb came when Krajinovic was forced to retire after losing the first set in Winston-Salem in 2019.
One of Krajinovic’s win was a five-set win at the French Open in 2019, while the other tour level win came in Rome last year. In addition to the two clay court wins, Krajinovic also won an indoor match at a lower level event.

Tiafoe Is 1-7 at Roland Garros
After six consecutive first round defeats at the French Open, Frances Tiafoe finally won his first ever match in the tournament last year, beating Benjamin Bonzi in the opening round. But that win remains his only win at the French Open as he was knocked out by David Goffin in the second round.
A lot has changed for Tiafoe over the last one year. He made his semifinal debut at a Grand Slam at the U.S. Open last year; reached his maiden ATP 1000 semifinal at Indian Wells this year; claimed the United Cup title with Team USA; captured his second ATP title by beating Tomás Martín Etcheverry in the Houston Open final last month; and broke into the top 15 for the first time in his career.
Tiafoe, who peaked to a career high of no. 11 last month, is currently ranked no. 12th in the world. He is 21-9 overall and 6-3 on clay. His recent form hasn’t been good though as he is 2-3 on European clay.

Krajinovic in Woeful Form
It’s been a year of struggle for Filip Krajinovic, who has seen a constant decline in his rankings.
Currently ranked no. 92 in the world, the 31-year-old Serb is 3-11 in the main draws at the tour level and has lost all five of his main draw matches on clay.
Krajinovic suffered his most recent defeat to Adrian Mannarino at the Geneva Open. Overall Krajinovic is 7-14, across levels this year. Three of those wins came at the Prague 2 Challenger on clay earlier this year. He went on to reach the semifinals of that tournament before bowing out.
Krajinovic had begun the season by reaching the last eight in Pune, but he has struggled to win matches since then.
At the French Open, Krajinovic will be making his seventh main draw appearance. His best so far have been third round finishes in 2019 and 2022. How far can he go this year?
Tiafoe v Krajinovic Prediction and Tip
While Krajinovic has a lot more experience of playing on clay than Tiafoe, their current forms clearly favour the American in this contest. The Serb has just not got going this year, while Tiafoe has already won a clay court title and has been one of the most improved players over the last one year.
Tips:
- Low Risk Tip: Tiafoe to win: 2/7
- Moderate Risk Tip: More than three sets in the match: 4/5
