Grigor Dimitrov v Daniel Altmaier Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the Indian Wells Masters of 2021 and Dimitrov had won that in straight sets.

Altmaier in a Marathon Shock Win
In an epic battle that lasted nearly five and a half hours, Altamaier managed to find a way past Jannik Sinner in the second round of the tournament.
Altmaier won 6-7 (0), 7-6 (7), 1-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5 after saving two match-points on his opponent’s serve before moving into the third round of this tournament for the second time in his career.
In turn, Altmaier had a chance to serve for the match at 5-4 in the fifth set and muffed up four match-points himself but that did not seem to deter him too. The German 24-year-old broke his opponent in the very next game before scraping through in the next.
This became the longest match at the French Open in three years as Altmaier registered one of the best comeback wins of the season.
Can he now shrug off the mental and physical exhaustion from such a weariness-inducing battle and get ready in time for Dimitrov?

Dimitrov Makes it Two Straight-Set Wins in a Row
Having finished as a finalist at the Geneva Open, Dimitrov continued to shine on clay as he registered his second successive straight-set win of this tournament.
Dimitrov, who had routed Timofey Skatov in the first round at the 2023 French Open, overcame Emil Ruusuvuori in three sets despite the fight exhibited by his opponent in the opening set.
In a match lasting two hours and 44 minutes, Dimitrov triumphed 7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the third round here for the second season in a row. Last season too, Dimitrov had defeated Marcos Giron and Borna Coric in the first two rounds in straight sets before falling to Diego Schwartzman.
Here, he was broken four times in his second round match but was never out of the control. For instance in the first set he went up a break on two separate occasions only to lose the initiative soon after.
In the second, he was down a break in the very first game but broke right back in the next and regained control. And in the third, Dimitrov ran away to a lead, lost his serve and then broke right back to win the encounter.
He will give himself a good chance to clinch this.
Dimitrov v Altmaier Prediction and Tip
While Dimitrov is a favourite here at 2/5, those odds are too short for our liking. We will have to go with both players to win a set here.
Tips:
- Low Risk Tip: Over 3.5 sets in the match: 4/6
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 0.5 tie-breakers in the match: 5/6
