French Open 2023 Predictions & Tips for Wednesday, June 7

Casper Ruud v Holger Rune Tips Here

There have been five previous meetings between these two players, all of which have come on clay. And rather interestingly, Ruud’s won four of them including one at this very stage of the previous season’s French Open.

Rune’s only win came in Rome earlier this year.

Interestingly, Casper Ruud had been in such poor form before this tournament that it was hard to imagine him making it this far but now that he has, he starts off a 4/5 favourite to win this against Rune.

Backing Rune to fight tooth and nail though and it’s that very fight which could help him come through here.

Iga Swiatek v Cori Gauff Tips Here

This is a repeat of the previous year’s French Open final which had seen Swiatek defeat Gauff 6-1, 6-3. In fact they have also played on five other occasions and Swiatek has won every single time without dropping a set.

It’s no surprise that not only is Swiatek a huge favourite to win this but also 1/2 to do that in two sets. Given their head to head record which has seen Swiatek win every single time they have met it’s easy to see why it’s tough to bet against that but Gauff can be expected to put up some fight.

Ons Jabeur v Beatriz Haddad Maia Tips Here

They met once earlier at the highest level and one other time on the ITF circuit and Jabeur won both times.

No prizes for guessing who the favourite is here and that’s whom we are going for as well. Could see a third set though.

Alexander Zverev v Tomas Etcheverry Tips Here

Zverev and Etcheverry have never faced off in a competitive match before this.

While Zverev is a heavy favourite in this one, we can see Etcheverry put up a fight and even push the German to the brink. Zverev to come through in the end though.
