Kecmanovic Has Had a Decent Run This Season

World no. 37 Miomir Kecmanovic hasn’t played much on grass since his run to the final in Antalya in 2019. Over the last two years he has played a few matches in Wimbledon, leading the second round in 2021 and the third round in 2022.

Overall, the Serbian has a 9-9 career record on grass.

The 23-year-old will be making his debut in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. He has had a good run this year, reaching two of his four ATP finals this year.

Kecmanovic has an overall record of 15-15 this year. He finished runner-up in Delray Beach to Taylor Fritz and runner-up in Estoril to Casper Ruud.

He was also a semifinalist in Banja Luka, but is coming off a disappointing French Open campaign, where he lost in the first round to Italy’s Andrea Vavassori. Kecmanovic had taken a two sets to love lead, but he threw away the advantage as the latter came back from two sets down to win the contest, by winning all of the last three sets in tiebreaks.

It will be interesting to see if he can adjust quickly to grass and make a winning start.

Raonic Back from Injury After Two Years

Milos Ranonic is making a comeback after a long layoff. The last time the Canadian played a competitive match, it was in July 2021, when he lost to Brandon Nakashima in the first round of the Atlanta Open.

Raonic was making a return in Atlanta following a four-month absence due to a thigh injury and then an Achilles problem extended his time away from court. More misfortune followed last year, when while recovering from the injury, he broke his toe in the gym.

He seems to have recovered completely now and is all set to return to action this week. A former world no.3, Raonic is an eight-time tour-level champion.

The 32-year-old was a 2016 Wimbledon finalist and has played in three grass court finals in all, but is yet to win a title on the surface.

It will be tough for him, but can he make a winning return?

Kecmanovic v Raonic Prediction and Tip

Raonic will be rusty and will need time to get back to competitive tennis. He is taking on a player who has been playing consistently and has produced a number of good results as well this year. So, Kecmanovic is a heavy favourite in this match and a win for Raonic will be considered a massive upset.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Kecmanovic to win: 1/9
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Under 22.5 games in the match: 4/5
