Sasnovich Has Reached Wimbledon Fourth Round Previously

Sasnovich has appeared in four WTA finals to date, but she has yet to lift a winner’s trophy aloft. She has also enjoyed some doubles success, reaching the semi-final of the US Open in 2019, and the French Open the following year.

Her best Grand Slam singles performance, though, is reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon five years ago, a feat she emulated in Roland Garros in 2022.

Now 29, Sasnovich is looking to improve on a record of not having won more than a single match in any event that she has entered this year.

The latest chain in that sequence was her first round defeat at the French Open to the Dane Clara Tauson.

Stefanini Has Not Won Since April

Stefanini only made her main tour debut two years ago, and it took her until this year, and Melbourne, to qualify for a Grand Slam for the first time, although she made a winning start there by beating the German Tatjana Maria.

That same month she won an ITF event in Porto on hard courts, although she is equally adept on clay, where she has achieved success in both singles and doubles, again on the junior tours.

However, as with most Italian players, grass is a somewhat alien surface to Stefanini.

In April she won an ITF event in Calvi in France, beating Heather Watson in the final in what was a hard court event.

Her switch to clay this year did not go as planned, and she lost all four matches that she played on it, including in the first round of Rome, and at the first stage of the qualifying competition for the French Open.

Sasnovich v Stefanini Prediction and Tip

Although Sasnovich has not been in the best of form this year, she is playing an opponent for whom grass is not a natural surface on which to play tennis, That makes her the odds-on favourite.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Sasnovich to win: 1/3
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Under 21.5 games in the match: 4/5
